Critter Care Animal Hospital History

Critter Care animal Hospital opened it’s doors in 1998. It is a full service veterinary hospital for small animals: dogs, cats and small mammals. It is owned by Dr Amna Plummer, with Dr Keidra Carmen joining the staff in 2010. Each veterinarian brings a unique talent to the hospital.

Dr Amna Plummer

Dr Amna Plummer was born and raised in the Houston area. She attended the Debakey High School for Health Professions where she graduated in 1990. After she graduated from Spelman College with a BS in Science/Pre Medicine in 1995, she went onto Tuskegee University and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2000. While employed at The Veterinary Emergency Referral Group, she worked part time at Critter Care Animal Hospital (CCAH) and purchased the hospital in 2004 from the late Dr Katherine Kellner. Her previous experience in the EC gives her practical and experienced talent for internal medicine and emergency care at CCAH. She also enjoys time with her family, horseback riding, traveling to places far away, as well as those close to home and outdoor activities.

Dr Keidra Carmen

Dr Keidra Carmen was born and raised in the Houston, TX area. She graduated from Texas Southern University in 2001 with a BS in Biology. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from Tuskegee University. In 2010, Dr Carmen brought her love and talent for surgery to Critter Care Animal Hospital, where her expertise gives another depth to the practice and advantage to our clients. Her hobbies include outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
